The Material Design Lab is an interdisciplinary space where science and design meet in the exploration and understanding of materials.

We believe the key to innovation lies in cross-disciplinary collaborations and therefore we make an effort to work with a variety of professionals from both research and industry.

The Material Design Lab is part of KEA – Copenhagen School of Design & Technology.

KEA STUDENTS – EXTRA CURRICULAR PROJECT

If you have ever wanted to build a 3D printer in order to work with different materials, now is your chance! We are going to be working on the project every Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm-6pm down in the lab with the wise and wonderful Laura Penman leading the way.
The plan is to build the 3D printer from scratch and use it to experiment with different materials. You don’t need any experience in 3D printing to take part. Just curiosity and a willingness to learn. We shall learn about 3D printing technology  and materials together. Email us at material@kea.dk to sign up.
This project is only open to KEA students and KEA alumni.
